A laptop keyboard may hide Print Screen behind an Fn combination, so start with shortcuts that work across compact keyboards.
On a Windows laptop, press Windows + Shift + S. It opens the Snipping Tool overlay and does not require a dedicated PrtSc key, which makes it the most reliable laptop shortcut.
If your keyboard does not have a PrtSc key, Microsoft lists Fn + Windows + Space as an alternative screenshot shortcut. This is useful on compact laptop and 2-in-1 keyboards.
